Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- medium onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- small green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- stalk celery, chopped - 1 item
- bay leaf, crushed - 1 item
- snipped parsley - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cayenne pepper - 1/8 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- water - 2 c
- cleaned cooked shrimp - 2 c
- cooked rice - 3 c
How to make shrimp creole:
In 2-quart saucepan, cook onion in butter, stirring, until onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except shrimp and rice. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in shrimp; simmer for 5 to 10 minutes longer. Serve over cooked rice.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
