Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • salad oil - 3 Tbsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • chili powder - 1/2 1
  • chopped onions - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
  • can tomatoes - 1 item
  • can seasoned tomato sauce - 1 item
  • raw shrimp, cleaned and deveined - 12 oz

How to make shrimp creole:

In hot oil, cook onions, celery and garlic until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, sugar, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 45 minutes; thicken with cornstarch. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover and simmer until done, about 5 minutes. Serve with rice.
