Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- salad oil - 3 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 3/4 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 8 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- dash of hot pepper sauce - 1 item
- rice - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 16 oz
- raw shrimp - 1 lb
How to make shrimp creole:
Shell shrimp. Cook onion, celery and garlic in salad oil until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, sugar, chili powder and hot pepper sauce. Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water; stir into sauce. Cook, stirring until bubbly. Add peeled shrimp and green pepper. Cover. Simmer 5 minutes.
