Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- salad oil - 3 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1/2 1
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- dash bottled hot pepper sauce - 1 item
- cleaned, raw shrimp - 12 oz
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook onion, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes and next 6 ingredients; simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water; stir into sauce. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover and simmer until done, about 5 minutes. Serves 6.
