Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- salad oil - 3 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chopped onion
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1/2 1
- can tomato sauce - 18 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- dash of hot pepper sauce - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- clean, raw shrimp - 12 oz
- clove garlic minced may use a sprinkle of garlic powder - 1 item
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook onions, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown. Add tomatoes and next 6 ingredients and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of cold water and stir into sauce. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and boils. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover and simmer until done for about 5 minutes.
