Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- peanut oil - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped green peppers - 3/4 c
- chopped celery - 3/4 c
- chopped parsley - 1/4 c
- flour
- fresh tomatoes - 1 can
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- shelled and cleaned shrimp - 1 lb
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook onions, pepper, celery and parsley in oil or bacon fat about 5 minutes. Stir flour into vegetables, add tomatoes cut up. Cook about 5 minutes. Add garlic, sugar, salt and pepper. Stir into mixture. Cook about 5 minutes. Add shrimp; cook about 5 minutes.Serve over rice or mashed potatoes or spaghetti or macaroni. Serves 4.
