Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • cornstarch - 1 tsp
  • oil - 3 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • chili powder - 1/2 1
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • dash of Tabasco sauce - 1 item
  • can tomatoes - 1 lb
  • raw, cleaned shrimp - 12 oz

How to make shrimp creole:

Cook onion, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes. Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water. Stir into sauce. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover; simmer until done.
