Ingredients/Components
- slices bacon, diced - 3 item
- small onion, sliced - 1 item
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- dry mustard - 1/4 tsp
- can cut green beans - 1 oz
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- hard-cooked egg, chopped - 1 item
How to make pennsylvania dutch green beans:
Cook bacon until crisp; remove from skillet. Add onion to 1 tablespoon bacon drippings; cook until tender. Blend in cornstarch, salt and mustard. Drain beans, reserving 1/2 cup liquid. Stir in reserved liquid. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and translucent. Blend in sugar and vinegar. Add beans. Heat. Top with bacon and egg.
