Cabbage bean soup
Ingredients/Components
- oil - 6 Tbsp
- hot water - 12 c
- pepper - 3/4 tsp
- chopped onions - 3 c
- oregano
- salt or to taste - 3 tsp
- large clove garlic, minced - 3 item
- beef bouillon cubes - 3 item
- coarsely chopped cabbage - 6 c
- cans red or white kidney beans - 3 oz
- frankfurters, sliced or chunks of ham - 6 item
How to make cabbage bean soup:
Saute onions and garlic in oil about 5 minutes. Add cabbage. Saute for 5 minutes longer. Add water, bouillon and seasoning. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add meat and beans. Put in jars and process in pressure canner for 1 hour for quarts.Navy beans can be substituted for kidney beans.
