Cabbage bean soup
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- water or broth - 2 c
- cans navy beans - 2 item
- Polish sausage, sliced - 8 16
- medium onion, chopped coarse - 1 item
- small cabbage, shredded coarse - 1 item
How to make cabbage bean soup:
Brown sausage. Add onions and saute until tender. Stir in salt, thyme, pepper, cabbage, tomatoes and broth or water. Bring to a boil. Stir in beans. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until cabbage is done. Great with cornbread!Recipe categories: Side dish, Soups & stews, Greens.
