Cabbage bean soup
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
- black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- red pepper - 1/4 tsp
- ground chuck - 1 lb
- cabbage, chopped - 2 3
- potatoes, peeled and cubed - 2 item
- cans kidney beans, undrained - 2 oz
- small bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- smoked sausage, sliced - 1 lb
- cans tomatoes, undrained and chopped - 2 oz
How to make cabbage bean soup:
In a 5 quart pot, brown beef, sausage, onion and bell pepper. Drain if necessary. Add about 4 cups of water, beans, potatoes and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce to low and simmer 30 to 35 minutes. Add cabbage and continue to cook until potatoes are tender and cabbage is done. Yields 8 to 10 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Soups & stews, Greens.
