Sticky cinnamon buns
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 2 tsp
- buttermilk
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 6 c
- warm water - 1/2 c
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- butter or oleo, softened - 1/2 c
How to make sticky cinnamon buns:
Add baking powder and salt to flour. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand 10 minutes. Add buttermilk, sugar, eggs and 3 cups flour. Mix. Add remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.Turn out on floured board. Knead 10 to 20 minutes. Divide dough in half. Roll each piece into 15 x 9-inch rectangle. Combine 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 1 cup currants (optional). Spread 2 tablespoons butter on dough. Sprinkle 1/2 of sugar mixture on top. Roll from wide side. Cut in 15 pieces. Place on sheet. Let rise 1 hour. Bake 35 minutes at 350°.
