Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • buttermilk
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 6 c
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • dry yeast - 2 pkg
  • butter or oleo, softened - 1/2 c

How to make sticky cinnamon buns:

Add baking powder and salt to flour. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand 10 minutes. Add buttermilk, sugar, eggs and 3 cups flour. Mix. Add remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.

Turn out on floured board. Knead 10 to 20 minutes. Divide dough in half. Roll each piece into 15 x 9-inch rectangle. Combine 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 1 cup currants (optional). Spread 2 tablespoons butter on dough. Sprinkle 1/2 of sugar mixture on top. Roll from wide side. Cut in 15 pieces. Place on sheet. Let rise 1 hour. Bake 35 minutes at 350°.
