Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- warm water - 1/4 c
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand 5 minutes. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients. Make a well in center of mixture. Add yeast mixture, oil and buttermilk. Stir until dry ingredients are moistened.Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Cover with thin cloth. Let rise in warm place free from drafts for 1 hour. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
Note: Dough may be refrigerated for 5 days. Then roll out, cut and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
