Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- warm water - 3 Tbsp
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix dry ingredients and cut in butter until very fine. Stir in yeast mixture and enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Turn out on a floured board and knead a few times for a smooth dough. Roll dough 1/2-inch thick and use cutter of your choice. Place on greased cookie sheet. Cook in preheated oven at 400° for about 15 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
