  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour
  • warm water - 3 Tbsp
  • dry yeast - 1 pkg

How to make angel biscuits:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix dry ingredients and cut in butter until very fine. Stir in yeast mixture and enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Turn out on a floured board and knead a few times for a smooth dough. Roll dough 1/2-inch thick and use cutter of your choice. Place on greased cookie sheet. Cook in preheated oven at 400° for about 15 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen.
