Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- paprika - 1 tsp
- diced green pepper - 1/2 c
- prepared mustard - 1 tsp
- minced onion - 2 Tbsp
- coarsely chopped onion - 1 c
- small clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- diced celery - 1 c
- small bay leaf - 1/2 item
- shredded American cheese - 2 c
- rice
- dash of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 item
- drops of hot sauce - 4 item
- cooked cleaned shrimp - 2 c
- Add flour and seasonings; stir until blended
How to make shrimp creole:
Melt butter in frypan; saute onion, celery and garlic until tender, but not brown. Add flour and seasonings; stir until blended. Stir in green pepper and tomatoes. Cook for 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally. Add shrimp; heat through.Cheese Rice:1 Tbsp. butter1 tsp. salt1 1/2 c. rice2 Tbsp. minced onion2 c. shredded American cheese1 tsp. prepared mustard Bring 3 cups water to boiling point. Add butter, salt and rice; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, covered, for about 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir in onion, cheese and mustard.
