Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- medium mushrooms, sliced - 1/4 lb
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- rice - 3 c
- can whole tomatoes - 1 1/2
- thyme - 1 tsp
- stalk celery, sliced - 1 item
- small green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- clove garlic, pressed - 1 item
- small red pepper, chopped - 1 item
- medium shrimp, shelled and deveined - 1 lb
- oleo or vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp
How to make shrimp creole:
Heat half of oleo and add shrimp; saute until pink. Remove from skillet. Add remaining oleo; cook celery, mushrooms, peppers and garlic until slightly browned. Pour off 1/4 cup of juice from tomatoes and set aside. Add remaining tomatoes to sauteed veRecipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
