Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
  • chili powder - 1 tsp
  • medium mushrooms, sliced - 1/4 lb
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • rice - 3 c
  • can whole tomatoes - 1 1/2
  • thyme - 1 tsp
  • stalk celery, sliced - 1 item
  • small green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • clove garlic, pressed - 1 item
  • small red pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • medium shrimp, shelled and deveined - 1 lb
  • oleo or vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp

How to make shrimp creole:

Heat half of oleo and add shrimp; saute until pink. Remove from skillet. Add remaining oleo; cook celery, mushrooms, peppers and garlic until slightly browned. Pour off 1/4 cup of juice from tomatoes and set aside. Add remaining tomatoes to sauteed ve
