Scallops st. jacques
Ingredients/Components
- heavy cream - 2 Tbsp
- plain flour - 1 oz
- mushrooms, sliced - 2 item
- white wine - 5 oz
- sea scallops - 1 lb
- unsalted butter - 2 oz
- slices shallots or equal amount of scallion - 3 item
- medium tomatoes, skinned, sliced and seeds removed - 2 item
- Gruyere cheese or Parmesan cheese, grated - 2 Tbsp
How to make scallops st. jacques:
Preheat oven to 350°. Place scallops (whole) in saucepan. Pour wine over and cook for 5 minutes. Drain scallops, saving wine liquid for later. Put in an ovenproof dish.Melt butter in saucepan. Add mushrooms and shallots. Cook 2 to 3 minutes without browning. Add flour and off the heat, stir in wine liquid to make sauce. Add tomatoes and pour over scallops. Sprinkle cheese on top. Cook in center of 350° oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
