Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 qt
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 6 Tbsp
  • ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • finely chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
  • poultry seasoning - 1/2 tsp
  • bulk pork sausage - 1 lb
  • biscuits - 1 item

How to make sausage gravy:

Crumble sausage into a large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat. Add onion. Cook and stir until transparent. Drain. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the drippings. Stir in flour. Cook over medium-low heat about 6 minutes or until mixture bubbles and turns golden. Stir in milk. Add seasonings. Cook until thickened. Serve by spooning over biscuits.
