Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 3 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • can minced clams - 1 oz
  • diced potatoes - 3 c
  • diced onions - 1/2 c
  • can clam juice - 1 oz
  • diced salt pork - 1/3 c

How to make new england clam chowder:

Brown pork in saucepan. Add onions and saute until onions are tender. Add clam juice and bring to boiling point. Add potatoes, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until potatoes are tender. Add clams and milk. Simmer about 30 minutes. Do not boil.
