Ingredients/Components

  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • soy sauce - 1/4 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item

  • sorghum - 2 Tbsp
  • can Chinese vegetables - 1 item
  • cans bean sprouts - 2 item
  • sirloin steak, cut into chunks - 1 to

How to make chop suey:

Brown beef in oil. Add 2 cups water; simmer until meat is tender. Add onion, celery and soy sauce; cook for 10 minutes. Rinse and add vegetables and bean sprouts. Cook 10 minutes longer. Thicken with mixture of sorghum, cornstarch, ginger and 1/4 cup water. Serve over rice.
