Barbecued spareribs
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- cider vinegar
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- light brown sugar - 1/2 c
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/4 c
- chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- catsup - 1/2 c
- chili sauce - 1/4 c
- dash of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
- onion, quartered - 1 item
- spareribs, cracked in halves - 4 lb
How to make barbecued spareribs:
Sauce:1/2 c. cider vinegar1/2 c. light brown sugar1/2 c. catsup1/4 c. chili sauce1 clove garlic, crushed1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce2 Tbsp. chopped onion1 Tbsp. lemon juice1/2 tsp. dry mustard dash of cayenne pepper In large kettle, place ribs, onion, salt, pepper and 3 quarts water; bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours or until tender; drain.Meanwhile, make barbecue sauce. In medium saucepan, combine all ingredients for sauce. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Arrange spareribs on rack in broiler pan. Brush with sauce. Broil 5 inches from heat, basting frequently with sauce. Broil 10 minutes on each side. Makes 6 servings.
