Hamburger barley soup
Ingredients/Components
- water - 7 c
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- garlic powder - 1 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- onion - 1 item
- carrots, sliced - 2 item
- can tomatoes - 28 oz
- celery - 1 c
- green pepper - 1/2 item
- ground beef or turkey - 1 lb
- pearl barley - 1/2 c
- potatoes, cut up - 2 item
- celery tops - 1/2 c
How to make hamburger barley soup:
Brown meat and add all ingredients except carrots and potatoes. Bring to a boil. Let simmer 45 minutes. Add carrots and cook about 15 or 20 more minutes, then add potatoes and cook another 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, North american, 3 steps or less.
