Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- diced celery - 1/2 c
- black pepper - 1 item
- whole bay leaves - 2 item
- canned tomatoes - 2 c
- cooked, peeled shrimp - 2 c
- oil or fat - 3 Tbsp
- few drops Tabasco to taste - 1 item
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in hot oil until tender. (If garlic clove is used, cook with vegetables; if powder is used, mix with dry ingredients.) Stir in flour, salt, sugar and pepper which have been mixed together. Add water; simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Add tomatoes, vinegar and bay leaves. Simmer 15 minutes.
