Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1 c
- chopped onion
- snipped parsley - 2 tsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- hot cooked rice - 3 4
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- finely chopped celery - 1 c
- medium green peppers, finely chopped - 2 item
- bay leaves, crushed - 2 item
- fresh cleaned raw shrimp - 1 lb
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook and stir the onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in butter until onion is tender. Remove from heat. Stir in tomato sauce, water and seasonings. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Add water if needed. Stir in shrimp. Heat to boiling. Cover and cook over medium heat for 10 to 20 minutes, or until shrimp are pink and tender. Serve over rice.
