Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1 c
- butter or oleo - 1/4 c
- chopped onion
- snipped parsley - 2 tsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- hot cooked rice - 3 c
- tomato sauce - 1 can
- cayenne pepper - 1/8 tsp
- finely chopped celery - 1 c
- medium green peppers, finely chopped - 2 item
- bay leaves, crushed - 2 item
- fresh or frozen cleaned raw shrimp - 14 16
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook and stir onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in butter until onion is tender. Remove from heat; stir in tomato sauce, water and seasonings. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Add water if needed. Stir in shrimp. Heat to boiling. Cover and cook over medium heat 10 to 20 minutes or until shrimp are pink and tender. Serve over rice. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
