Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- flour - 1/3 c
- hot water
- chopped onion - 3/4 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- fat - 4 Tbsp
- chopped parsley - 2 Tbsp
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- chopped bell pepper - 1/2 c
- clove minced garlic - 1 item
- cleaned, deveined shrimp
- can tomato sauce with tidbits of tomatoes - 1 oz
How to make shrimp creole:
Saute shrimp in fat in a large skillet for 5 minutes or until pink. Remove from pan; add flour and brown lightly. Add chopped seasonings and saute. Add tomato sauce, water, thyme, bay leaf, sugar, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir well and simmer in covered pan for 20 minutes, stirring constantly. Add shrimp and cook until tender.
