Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- salad oil - 3 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- tomato sauce - 8 oz
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 c
- cooked rice - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- Worcestershire - 1 Tbsp
- dash of Tabasco - 1 item
- clove minced garlic - 1 item
- clean, raw shrimp - 12 oz
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook onion, celery and garlic in oil until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes and next 6 ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water and stir into the sauce. Cook and stir until mixture bubbles. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover and simmer until done, about 5 minutes.
