Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3/4 c
  • shredded lettuce - 1 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 3/4 c
  • can corn, drained - 1 3/4
  • taco seasoning mix - 1 pkg
  • can tomatoes and green chilies, drained - 1 oz
  • 6-inch pita rounds - 5 item

How to make pitas:

Cook ground beef and drain well. Add seasoning mix, water, tomatoes and green chilies and corn. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes. Cut bread rounds in half. Place on baking sheet and bake at 250° for 10 minutes, or until warm. Fill each pocket half full with meat mixture and top with lettuce and cheese. Yield: 10 sandwiches.
