Banana bran bread



  • sugar - 2/3 c
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • baking powder
  • applesauce - 1/4 c
  • 100% bran cereal - 1 c
  • raisins, dates and nuts optional - 1 item
  • large ripe and mashed bananas - 2 item

How to make banana bran bread:

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Soften butter and add. Stir until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add next 3 ingredients and optional items. Mix until blended. Pour into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch greased pan (use Pam in the loaf pan). Preheat oven to 350°. Cook 50 to 60 minutes or until done. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove to rack to cool completely. Makes one 9-inch loaf.
