Pineapple upside-down cake
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- box white cake mix - 1 item
- can sliced pineapple - 1 item
- to 10 maraschino cherries - 8 item
How to make pineapple upside-down cake:
Mix cake as directed; set aside. Melt butter and brown sugar in the bottom of 9 x 13-inch baking pan. (Melt by placing pan in the oven or microwave.) Mix well. Lay your sliced pineapple onto the butter and brown sugar. Put cherries into the holes in the pineapple and along the edges of the pan. Pour your mixed cake batter onto the pineapples and brown sugar/butter mixture. Bake at 350° or as directed on cake box. Done when a toothpick comes out clean.Let cool about 15 minutes, then flip it onto a foil covered cookie sheet to serve. Looks nice and needs no frosting.
