Applesauce cake with caramel frosting
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar
- butter
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- nuts - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar
- raisins - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- can applesauce - 1 oz
How to make applesauce cake with caramel frosting:
Caramel Frosting:3/4 c. butter1 1/2 c. brown sugar1/4 c. milk1 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add applesauce and milk. Sift and add flour, soda and spices. Cream thoroughly. Add raisins and nuts. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350° in 13 x 9-inch pan.Melt butter and add brown sugar. Remove from heat and add milk, bringing to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat at low speed until creamy.
