Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1/3 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 lb
  • eggs, beaten slightly - 2 item
  • cubes butter - 2 item
  • Frosting:1 cube butter
  • add walnuts - 1 item

How to make buttermilk cake:

Frosting:1 cube butter4 Tbsp. buttermilk4 Tbsp. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar add walnuts Mix together dry ingredients, flour, sugar and soda; set aside. In saucepan, heat water, cocoa, buttermilk and butter. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add dry ingredients. Add eggs and vanilla. Grease and flour a jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1/2-inch). Pour batter into pan and bake at 350` for 15 minutes.

Put Frosting ingredients in saucepan, except powdered sugar and nuts; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and nuts. Frost cake while still hot.
