Jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- oil - 3 Tbsp
- parsley - 2 tsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1/3 c
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- raw rice - 2 c
- stewed tomatoes - 2 c
- Cajun sausage
- onion tops - 1/3 c
- cooked chicken or shrimp - 1 lb
How to make jambalaya:
Brown sausage in Dutch oven. (Cube chicken and set aside.) Fry onion in oil; add flour and cook until brown. Add water and all other ingredients. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and cover. Raise lid occasionally to stir, but not too often. Cook until rice is tender, 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Poultry, Meat, Cajun.
