Ingredients/Components

  • garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • dried parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • crushed red pepper - 1/8 1/4
  • instant minced onion - 1 Tbsp
  • dried thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • uncooked long grain rice - 1 c
  • beef bouillon granules - 2 tsp
  • chopped chicken, cooked - 1 c
  • instant green pepper flakes - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped ham or smoked sausage - 1 c

How to make jambalaya mix:

Combine all ingredients; store in airtight container. Yield: 1 1/2 cups.

Bring Jambalaya Mix, 3 cups water and tomatoes sauce to a boil in a Dutch oven. Stir in 1 cup cooked chicken and 1 cup chopped ham or smoked sausage. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove and discard bay leaf. Yield: 8 cups.
