Jambalaya mix
Ingredients/Components
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- dried parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- crushed red pepper - 1/8 1/4
- instant minced onion - 1 Tbsp
- dried thyme - 1/4 tsp
- uncooked long grain rice - 1 c
- beef bouillon granules - 2 tsp
- chopped chicken, cooked - 1 c
- instant green pepper flakes - 1 Tbsp
- chopped ham or smoked sausage - 1 c
How to make jambalaya mix:
Combine all ingredients; store in airtight container. Yield: 1 1/2 cups.Bring Jambalaya Mix, 3 cups water and tomatoes sauce to a boil in a Dutch oven. Stir in 1 cup cooked chicken and 1 cup chopped ham or smoked sausage. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove and discard bay leaf. Yield: 8 cups.
