Ingredients/Components

  • salt
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • water - 2 c
  • oil - 3 Tbsp
  • parsley - 2 tsp
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • green pepper - 1/3 c
  • clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
  • raw rice - 2 c
  • sausage
  • onion tops - 1/3 c
  • bulk chicken, cooked - 1 lb
  • stewing tomatoes - 2 c

How to make jambalaya:

Brown sausage. Cube chicken; set aside. Fry onion in oil. Add flour; cook until flour is brown. Add water and all ingredients; bring to a boil. Lower heat; cover. Raise lid occasionally to stir, but not too often. Cook until rice is tender, about 45 minutes. Serves 4.
