Chicken gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 2 3
- oil - 1/2 c
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- soy sauce - 1 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- dash of hot sauce - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 item
- cut okra
- slice bacon, diced - 1 item
- hot rice - 1 item
- gumbo file optional
- whole chicken breasts, cut off the bone in bite-size pieces - 4 item
How to make chicken gumbo:
Combine flour and oil in large Dutch oven. Stir over medium heat until flour is medium brown. Stir in cut-up bacon and cook 1 minute. Add onion, green pepper and garlic and cook until onion is transparent. Add next 8 ingredients (soy sauce through water). Simmer 45 minutes, or until chicken is tender. Add okra and cook 10 minutes.
