Creamed chipped beef



  • milk - 2 c
  • butter or margarine - 4 Tbsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • sliced or dried chipped beef - 1/4 lb

How to make creamed chipped beef:

Tear beef into small pieces. Melt butter or margarine in frying pan or saucepan. Add beef. Saute until beef is hot and turning brown. Sprinkle flour and pepper over beef. Stir to coat meat. Add milk slowly while stirring. Cook and stir constantly over low heat until mixture thickens and boils. Serve over toast or mashed potatoes. Makes 6 servings.

Note: If dried beef is extra salty, let stand a few minutes in boiling water; blot dry.
