  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 1/4 lb
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • egg, well beaten - 1 item
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • Italian plums, halved and pitted - 1 item

How to make plum kuchen:

Topping:1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1 egg, well beaten Italian plums, halved and pitted Sift flour, measure and resift with dry ingredients. Work in butter with pastry blender or with 2 knives, until it looks like coarse meal. Add milk and egg all at once; stir just enough to dampen dry ingredients. Spread dough in bottom of well buttered bread pan. Arrange halved plums, skin side down, over the dough. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over top. Lastly, spread beaten egg. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.
