Clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1-1/2 tsp
- flour - 3/4 c
- butter - 3/4 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped onions - 1 c
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- diced potatoes - 2 c
- cans clams - 2 oz
- quart Half and Half - 1 item
How to make clam chowder:
Add all vegetables to pan and add enough water to cover. Cook until potatoes are tender. Add salt and pepper. Melt butter and add flour, blending until smooth. Add half and half and keep stirring until thick and smooth. Add to the vegetables and add clams. (Don't boil with the clams or they will become tough.)Variation: Fry bacon and crumble up in chowder. Also put an extra stick of butter in with the veggies while they cook.
