Ingredients/Components
- bacon, chopped - 1 lb
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- cans minced or chopped clams - 5 item
- salt and freshly ground pepper to taste - 1 item
- half and half - 2 qt
- large potatoes, peeled and diced - 6 item
How to make clam chowder:
Chop bacon and render. When bacon is crisp, remove from skillet and discard fat, except for 1 tablespoon. Cook onions in bacon fat until soft. Add potatoes, juice from clams and 1 cup of water.
