Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1 c
- cocoa - 5 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cake flour - 3 c
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Cream together butter and shortening. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour into a 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
