Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1/2 lb
- cocoa - 5 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour with cocoa, salt and baking powder. Add flour mixture, alternating with milk, to creamed mixture. Add vanilla and blend well.Turn into greased and floured 9-inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
