Chicken and sausage jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 3 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chicken broth - 1 qt
- chopped green pepper - 1 c
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- tomato sauce - 1 c
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- uncooked long grain rice
- smoked sausage - 1 lb
- large fryer - 1 item
How to make chicken and sausage jambalaya:
In a large Dutch oven, brown meat in oil. Remove meat; reduce heat and saute vegetables until onion is clear. Add seasonings, Worcestershire sauce, broth and tomato sauce. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Add meat and rice and stir. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook an additional 20 minutes over low heat, without stirring. If chicken broth is from chicken bouillon cubes, reduce salt.Recipe categories: Chicken, Whole chicken, Chicken breast.
