Chicken and dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1 item
- egg - 1 item
- self-rising flour - 3 c
- chicken bouillon cubes - 5 item
- black pepper - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 4 item
- carrots, sliced - 1 lb
- bay leaves - 2 item
- fryer chicken - 1 item
- no salt - 1 item
How to make chicken and dumplings:
Cut chicken. Put chicken, water and bouillon cubes in gumbo pot. Boil with carrots, celery and bay leaves. Remove bay leaves and discard. Remove chicken; debone and set aside. Mix the flour, egg and enough water to make a stiff dough. Turn onto a floured surface and roll very thin. Cut in 1/2-inch squares. Drop in boiling broth. Cook for 10 minutes. Return chicken to pot and serve.Use pizza cutter to make job easier.
