  • eggs - 7 item
  • milk - 3 c
  • salt - 1 item
  • dry mustard
  • stick margarine, melted - 1 item
  • sliced cheese - 1 item
  • loaf sandwich bread - 1 item
  • onion and green pepper optional - 1 item
  • bulk sausage, browned or ham slices - 1 lb
  • crushed cereal or Grape-Nuts - 3 c

How to make breakfast casserole:

Grease deep 9 x 13-inch pan. Layer bread, meat, cheese, bread, meat and cheese. Combine eggs, milk, dry mustard and salt. Pour over layers; cover. Let set for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Uncover and sprinkle cereal and drizzle with melted butter. Bake, uncovered, 1 hour at 300° to 325°. Cut and serve warm. Great reheated in microwave. Nice for company or Christmas or Easter morning.
