Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 7 item
- milk - 3 c
- salt - 1 item
- dry mustard
- stick margarine, melted - 1 item
- sliced cheese - 1 item
- loaf sandwich bread - 1 item
- onion and green pepper optional - 1 item
- bulk sausage, browned or ham slices - 1 lb
- crushed cereal or Grape-Nuts - 3 c
How to make breakfast casserole:
Grease deep 9 x 13-inch pan. Layer bread, meat, cheese, bread, meat and cheese. Combine eggs, milk, dry mustard and salt. Pour over layers; cover. Let set for at least 8 hours or overnight.Uncover and sprinkle cereal and drizzle with melted butter. Bake, uncovered, 1 hour at 300° to 325°. Cut and serve warm. Great reheated in microwave. Nice for company or Christmas or Easter morning.
