Maple bars



Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/4 c
- warm water - 1 in
- scalded milk - 1 c
How to make maple bars:
Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool. Add yeast, softened in warm water. Add egg and flour. Let rise for 2 hours. Roll out and cut in bars with knife. Let rise until very large and fry in fat (melted Crisco). Frost with powdered sugar and maple flavoring.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Yeast breads.
