Ingredients/Components
- beef - 1 lb
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- taco seasoning mix - 1 pkg
- water - 3/4 c
- flour - 1 to
- yeast - 1 pkg
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- finely chopped onion - 2 tsp
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- warm water 120~ to 130~ - 2/3 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- crushed corn chips - 1/2 c
- shredded Cheddar - 1 c
- shredded lettuce - 1 c
- chopped tomatoes
How to make taco bake:
Brown meat and onions; drain. Add seasoning mix and water. Simmer 25 minutes. Meanwhile in medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, onion and salt; mix well. Add warm water and oil. Mix by hand until almost smooth. Stir in corn chips and enough remaining flour to make a stiff batter. Spread in well-greased 10-inch pie pan, forming a rim around edge. Cover; let rise in a warm place about 20 minutes. Spread meat filling over dough. Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes until edge is light golden brown and crisp. Sprinkle cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on top. Serve immediately.Recipe categories: Cheese, Main dish, Beef.
