Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 1 to
- water - 3/4 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- warm water - 2/3 c
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- shredded lettuce - 1 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- chopped tomatoes
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- finely chopped onion - 2 tsp
- taco seasoning mix - 1 pkg
- crushed corn chips - 1/2 c
- Red Star quick rise yeast or active dry yeast - 1 pkg
How to make taco bake:
Heat oven to 375°. In medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, onion and salt; mix well. Add very warm water and oil to flour mixture. Mix by hand until almost smooth. Stir in corn chips and enough remaining flour to make a stiff batter. Spread in a well-greased 10-inch pie pan, forming a ridge around the edge. Cover and let rise in a warm place about 10 to 20 minutes.Spread meat filling over dough. Bake for 30 minutes, until edge is crisp and light golden brown, then sprinkle cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on top and serve immediately.
