Spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 1 qt
- paprika - 1 tsp
- ground beef - 2 lb
- tomato paste - 8 oz
- bay leaves - 2 item
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- medium onions, chopped fine - 2 item
- coarse pepper - 1/2 tsp
- mushroom pieces - 4 oz
How to make spaghetti sauce:
Cook ground beef and onion in skillet until no pink remains in meat.In deep casserole or Dutch oven, combine all ingredients, including meat. Bake, covered, in 300° oven for 2 1/2 hours. Enough meat sauce for 16 ounces spaghetti. May be made ahead and frozen. May be cooked in slow cooker on low setting for 4 hours. Stir several times during cooking.
