Spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- oregano - 1 Tbsp
- basil - 1 tsp
- green peppers - 3 item
- bushel tomatoes - 1/2 item
- garlic bulbs - 2 item
- or 6 drops tabasco sauce - 5 item
- pints of chopped onions - 3 item
- pint cooking oil - 1 item
- small cans tomato paste - 8 item
How to make spaghetti sauce:
Cook tomatoes and run through a sieve. Put tomatoes back into a large pot and cook all ingredients but the tomato paste together for about 2 hours. Stir occasionally. Then add tomato paste and simmer for 30 more minutes. Put into hot jars, leaving 1/2 inch or more head room, and seal.Recipe categories: Sauces, Condiments, etc., Italian.
